@GoLLuM13 Vanilla Vista was a little bit of mess, but yes, it became good after the first service pack. A lot of people just never decided to give it a chance after being burned by the launch with performance issues. Then they hopped on the Windows 7 bandwagon and praised the OS... which was basically another iteration of Vista SP2 and nothing fundamentally changed.
@DoctorEldritch "Chicken OS" sounds interesting. Makes me think of a nice broth.

@Saka I remember it, I was using it in dual boot with XP, it wasn't perfect, but it was good enough at least for me, I remember I had a Core 2 Duo E6400 and an ATi X1600 and my brother was with a Pentium 4 Prescott with an nVidia FX5600 (we didn't have the same experience at all 👀) he was more on XP while I was more on Vista 🤣 eventually after few updates things became better, and he daily used Chicken OS 😁
But yeah, to make it work we had to have a beefy build

@GoLLuM13 I had a Core 2 Duo T8300, the Vista worked, but XP 64bit was better experience for me. Unfortunately, at some point my mobo died taking my license with it, so I was forced into making use of the OEM Vista in German. 😶
