    @DoctorEldritch Clearly you need to ask your stomach for the notes from the digesting process of the chocolate!

    I try that every time, and every time it responds with "We apologise, we did not get the sample you sent us. Please send another."

    At this point, I suspect foul play...

    @Saka haha nice 😄
    @DoctorEldritch totally relatable 😁
    @GoLLuM13 This actually reminds me of a Russian version of a cartoon about Winnie the Pooh. In the cartoon, he sings about honey, but if I translate and paraphrase substituting "honey" for "chocolate", then the text would be like this:

    Chocolate is a very strange thing.
    Because every other thing can either be present or not.
    But with chocolate - and I can't figure out the secret here,
    For when chocolate is present, it's immediately gone.

    @DoctorEldritch It seems @Saka and @GoLLuM13 finds the topic interesting. I also have so much to learn about chocolate. I remember a while back I mentioned to @QueenTomato to try some Kit Kat bars crumbled onto a slice of bread and melted in the microwave. I find it quite tasty 😋😂.

    Not sure if anyone else tried it before. Chocolates also disappear quickly in my company before any analysis.

    @DracoTarot I replied on that topic that I used to do something similar (minus the microwave step) 😃

    @GoLLuM13. I do remember you mentioning something in those lines. Now I'm hungry all over again. 😁

    @DracoTarot I do not have a microwave, I'm afraid. But I can try to do that in my air fryer oven. Would probably come out interesting. Personally, I like to make drinking chocolate by mixing the powder with warm milk, but unlike the usual way, I am using a concentrated chocolate powder that is normally used for baking. Because of that, the drink turns out quite bitter and I like to drink it with a chocolate cookie for sweetness. Bit of a chocolate overload, but I am prepared to do it for science.

    @DoctorEldritch I think an air fryer would also work well and the results may be the same.

    Isn't concentrated chocolate power you referring to cocoa power? I know cocoa power adds a more intense flavour and bitterness to the palate.

    I also prefer pure cocoa powder instead of the usual chocolate milk like Nesquik. Sometimes I mix cocoa powder with coffee and add a marshmallow or two instead of sugar to sweeten my cup of brew!

    Science is there for a reason and I have no objection to being a guinea pig once in a while!! 😂😎

    I use cocoa powder for making hot chocolate as well. The premade hot chocolate mixes are usually too sugary for me.

    @DracoTarot I am using chocolate powder, yes. I agree with @Saka that premade ones are too sugary, and there is a difference between a cocoa drink and proper hot chocolate for me, due to my upbringing.

    Back in my home country, the hot chocolate tradition was different. In most places like coffee shops such as Starbucks or similar, when they say "hot chocolate" what they actually mean is weak, runny and sweet chocolate-flavoured liquid with an inordinate amount of whipped cream on top. A bit like what they showed in the Simpsons:

    Not the case in my childhood. For me, when someone says "hot chocolate", it means a small espresso-sized cup filled with bitter thick chocolate, so thick it is difficult to drink it for some, so it can also be eaten with a spoon. Usually served with a glass of water to clean and refresh the palate. This proper "hot chocolate" has been disappearing lately, but can still be found, and it is this kind that I view as proper hot chocolate.

    What I make is not like that, I make it mug-sized. The taste is close to that proper hot chocolate, but the thickness is different. I could make it properly, but it would take more effort and time, so I usually go for that easier option.

    @DoctorEldritch I agree with both of you. The premade has too much sugar.

    We do have like one or two Starbucks here and they are located in the more prominent areas if you know what I mean. Never had the privilege to try out their runny hot choc and by the sound of it, I'd rather skip it altogether.

    The hot chocolate from your childhood sounds more like chocolate moose. If I'm unable to drink it and it has more of a thick consistency I would let the hot chocolate cool and enjoy it with some ice cream. 😂

    Don't know if it's going to taste good but it's worth a shot.
