Oh, I nearly missed this topic! Only found it now, but hopefully it is not too late to talk about the easter eggs I like.

As I mentioned in other topics, one of the games I play a lot is World of Warcraft. I have been playing for a long time. Way back, in Cataclysm expansion a world revamp was done that allowed flying in the old continents - Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Except they left out a few zones added in The Burning Crusade - Eversong Woods, Ghostlands, Silvermoon City, Exodar, Azuremyst Isle and Bloodmyst Isle. Players have been asking developers about updating those zones. The most memorable answer was "We can do that, but it will cost us a raid tier".

A few years later, Warlords of Draenor is released and players get something resembling housing - a garrison. In the garrison there is a small graveyard. One of the graves has a nameplate that says "Ray D. Tear". Reads the same as "raid tier".

I guess, something, after all, cost us that raid tier.

A bit different kind of an easter egg can be found in StarCraft II. There is a mission that has a Tauren Marine standing in front of an outhouse, slightly hidden in a corner of the map. It's an area that players typically don't explore, as the mission is a hold-out defense and the place is behind the enemy lines. If you approach the marine, he enters the outhouse and after a while the outhouse launches off the map.

The easter egg part in the video begins at around 1:50

My favorite Easter Egg is an old one from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
If you jump towards a building from the helipad on top of the VCN Building at the right spot, you will go through the wall of the building and discover a secret room with an actual Easter Egg sitting on a pedestal with the words "Happy Easter" written on it. I just love the simplicity and humor behind it and it's one of the first Easter Eggs I found by myself without the use of guides or the internet!
