Recently, there were rumors floating that Lenovo decided to end the project of the Legion series of gaming phones, based on comments from an alleged employee of the company on social media. The Android Authority approached Lenovo for comment and received this response from a spokesperson:

Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones as part of a wider business transformation and gaming portfolio consolidation. As a leader in gaming devices and solutions, Lenovo is committed to advancing the gaming category across form factors, as well as focusing on where it can bring the most value to the global gaming community.

This is not the only case of recent trouble with gaming phones, Xiaomi also did some massive cuts. For now, there are still companies that stick bravely with their models dedicated to gaming, but who knows for how long?

It's disappointing to hear that Lenovo is discontinuing its Android-based Legion mobile gaming phones, especially for fans of the Legion series. However, it's important to remember that companies often make strategic decisions based on market demands and competition

@Saka I actually asked on one of the forums if Lenovo will release another gaming phone and never got a straight answer.

    Now I know why. 😊

@AhmedOsmaan Agreed, the niche is very small and perhaps it is saturated enough as it is. There is no big difference between a gaming phone and a typical flagship phone. The performance levels are similar and probably the cooling difference and availability of additional features are not enough to get more buyers.

Thank you for the information @Saka I heard about new models for 2023 from other brands but not that many, and I was curious why there were no Legion Phones, now I know. And I think that's the normal thing to do, it's a niche market with too many actors, they better focus on other devices with a better return on investment (time and money) and that are more widespread and with a greater demand
