@DoctorEldritch I also make sure my living space won't go as far as to grow fungi like in The Last of Us! 😂 Once every fortnight is enough for a good cleanse.

You are not missing much. Driving is fun but it isn't the same as it was in the past. Too much stress is involved. The roads are horrendous and so are the people driving. I'm not discouraged in any way. It's more convenient for me to use public transport. Less of a hassle.

The only thing here is when you apply for a position in a company you can be certain the ad will mention "own transport needed" or " must have a driver's license." Even if you have an office job the employer expects you to go to certain places, public transport isn't an option because it takes too long to travel. If you do not fit the criteria you are not eligible for the position. One reason I'm unable to find employment beyond my comfort zone. The blinding migraines also have a great impact and it's sucks.

I stopped driving years ago due to foot injury and I really should get back to it. The foot it somewhat better, I still have limited control of it, but it should be good enough for the clutch with some practice. I live in a fairly remote area nowadays and the public transport just doesn't work here.

In the spring my bike gave me a sense of freedom and allowed me to go to places that were outside of walking distance, but in winter that's suicide.

@Saka This was surprising that a foot injury can prevent you from driving, but not from practicing kendo, I thought driving is a less strenuous activity for the feet. Then again, I never tried either, so I would not know, but it was surprising for me to learn that.

I prefer bikes, it is healthier and greener but, as you said, winter is a no-go for bikes, and so is rainy weather. Still, I do not want to learn how to drive. But if you like driving and it is more convenient for you, all the more power to you.

@DoctorEldritch It did stop me from practicing kendo, I had a long hiatus.

The foot being clumsy and numb is not ideal for kendo either, it's something that I am constantly trying to work around. In general my left leg is a mess and I am getting it treated, but the improvement is slow.

@Saka Ah, I see, I misunderstood. But I want to say, even slow improvement is better than no improvement, keep at it!

@DoctorEldritch Yeah, it is better than nothing. It's very frustrating though, because the improvement is not consistent and often it looks like being back to square one. 😐
