    Hello Legion Gamers!!

There are many sales and giveaways happening throughout the year where there is a chance to grab games cheaper or even for free. Some of them come out regularly, like the weekly EGS giveaways, and some are more spontaneous or seasonal.

We're always on the lookout for those, and thank everyone who shares the offers they find as well.

And to make it easier and clearer to see what sales or offers are available, we thought it would be nice to have a dedicated space in the community for collecting those. So welcome to the Chamber of Freebies!

Feel free to share any sales or promotions or offers you find here and good hunting!

Good idea, now the actual gaming threads won't be drowning from the announcements of the sales. Not that there have been many interesting sales lately. 🤐 But they will pop up at some point eventually!

@Saka That one sale you found for Türkiye-Syria earthquake relief was interesting, I think, even if not for the games on offer, then for the nobility of purpose.

@DoctorEldritch These charity bundles are generally good value, too. Rarely big titles, but a lot of small ones. A year ago there were some for Ukraine, I think I grabbed one from Humble Bundle and another from itch.io. The itch.io one had a crazy amount of retro stuff.

@Saka I am not too into retro, but it is good when a sale not only allows you to save money but also works towards some good initiative to help people.

@DoctorEldritch Yeah, the cause was the important thing there. As for the games offered in there, if it is an enormous bundle for a small amount of money, then it doesn't matter if only some items spark your interest.

@Saka True, though sometimes big bundles make me feel like a Buridan's donkey when I get too many "ok" choices. I'd rather have fewer choices but all of them are something I really want to play rather than many choices of games that are just "ok".

But this is my attitude towards all entertainment, not just games: the amount of content we have in series, for example, you buy a Netflix subscription but only watch about 5% of what is on offer, at least, it seems that way to me. But oh well, I guess even Buridan's donkeys should not look a gift horse in the mouth. 😅

@DoctorEldritch To me it doesn't really matter how many titles there are on the platform if it has the content I want to watch. The cost of the sub is still smaller than going to a cinema for example (and right now, I'd struggle a lot in the cinemas, because my hearing is not good enough to understand the audio in English and I am not fluent enough in Finnish to understand the subtitles without missing bits).

@Saka I prefer watching everything at home and not going to the cinemas, I like it better this way. You can have a meal or pause whenever you like and adjust subtitles if you need them to the font and size you want. And there are no popcorn-chewing people around.

But I still prefer to pay only for content I actually want rather than a bundle with a lot of it that has something I enjoy. The reason being, if I like some game or series and I buy it, then the developers get the revenue and they see that the product sells and plan to make more like that: buying lets them know something works and is doing well.

This is a problem with Netflix now: they canceled many series: some good, some bad, because with so many of them, the revenue is spread thinly. The only way you can show Netflix that you like a series is to watch it as soon as it comes out. This defeats the purpose as the whole point of Netflix is to be able to watch series you want whenever you want without the fear of them being canceled.

With games, I guess it is a bit different, but still, I'd prefer to pay money directly to the developers who I think are doing a good job. Not sure if they get a good share from the bundle. But I also prefer to save money, so if a bundle with something I want, as you said, is on sale, I can overlook my usual buying habits.
