@GoLLuM13 Which way do you prefer it?

@DoctorEldritch I guess so, since they put more tea in the southern regions which makes the tea more concentrated
@Saka As long as I have sugar I can have both but as I'm from a northern region I'm more used to the light yellowish

@GoLLuM13 Ah, so sugar eases up even the bitterness of death from leaf overdose. Got it! 😁

I like a strong and bitter brew when I am dealing with nausea. Somehow it generally helps.

@Saka Not my typical tea drinking habit, but your discussion with @GoLLuM13 reminded me of something. I quite agree with George Mikes and, unlike our @LilySensei, I think that adding milk to tea is an abomination. That being said, at one point in my life I was living and working in Myanmar. And there, along with other interesting dishes, they make something known as Burmese Milk Tea. This was probably one of the early examples of fusion, as they came up with it during colonial times (similar to Hong Kong and India, too).

Surprisingly for me, I actually liked it very much. They make it very strong so it is bitter, but mix it with a lot of condensed milk, so the end result does not really taste like tea anymore, but it is still quite pleasant. Sadly, I could not recreate this effect since I came back from there, maybe you need a specific blend of tea or milk for it to work.

May look like your typical British "tea with milk", but it is actually in a class of its own.

@Saka That's exactly it 😁 I remember one day I was in the desert on a drilling site for work, people are very hospitable there and served us peanuts and tea but without sugar (like they're used to drinking it), for the first sip I made a small face because it was a bit strong, but I got used to the taste eventually and finished two little cups 😁

@DoctorEldritch Ohh. Yes, something like that I would drink too. In case of the boba tea I spoke of, typically the base tea infusion is very strong as well, so milk breaks the flavour gently. But e.g. Yorkshire tea... when prepared according to the instructions, it doesn't taste much with milk added. Forgotten in the cup for half an hour... then yeah, milk can salvage it. 😅
@GoLLuM13 I am the type of the person who can drink strong tea like that. I grew up in family that likes Assam, but they don't bother removing the leaves from the teapot. Then thirsty me would come much later and drink the leftovers from the pot. You definitely couldn't complain about lack of taste.

@DoctorEldritch to me, it looks like a cappuccino without the froth aka coffee with milk 🤣

@GoLLuM13 I do not drink or like coffee, so can't relate, but though it may look that way, it's the taste that matters. 😉

Serious StarCraft II content reminded me of this topic:
