Enyone try to fitt RTX 40xx in T5 tower??

Im not sure if it fitt wide is min. 322x136x63mm and
max. 357x149x70mm what i found. MSI have that smallest ones.

But if i can fitt it in maybe air flow would be problem then. Have enyone idea or opinion or already test that.

Maybe idea is dead in born but just thinking?

I'd be more concerned about the power supply in the prebuilt. The 4000 series have very high transient power spikes, requiring really high end power supplies. While, technically, you can switch it out, as far as I know it voids the warranty.

Probably it is, but I would not suggest it before you have checked Power Supply. Changing GPU is one of those users are allowed to change, alongside adding RAM for example. I got same case, so yes, technically you can do it, but 4000 series, like Saka said above, requires so much power that I would not do it. Maybe something like 3080 would be better option.

@Saka and @Liue thanks fast answer and opinion. yeah supply is problem if i use stock one but change is not problem. im more worry if 4080 or 4090 physically fitt in case coz lot of larger than 3060ti and i think case would be tight for them 16gb ram works well in system thats not a problem too. I have already switched Ryzen 7 5800x3d and cooler. Next what i need is GPU. And i have G-sync monitor i need new Nvidia card. 3080 is almost same price than rtx 4080 only 100-200€ gap and performance gap is 60% . Better choice my opinion. Anyways have to upgrade PSU even if i change 3080 coz now 550w supply its not enough. Im interesting if 4080 or 4090 fitt in case and got them enough air between case and card. Maybe have to take measurements in case how much space there is and find out if it enough. 😊

Thanks guys already your opinions 🙏.

Right now I also got 3060Ti in my Legion T5 case, thinking to switch my Ryzen 7 3700X off to something else, at least. I would be happy with 3080 maybe, changing to 4080 for example would be a dream, but def first should change PSU, also 550W on mine (we might have same PC). I also need more RAM, only has 16GB in this - plus, more memory, 512GB SSD is not enough.

So, I am going to post a disclaimer that I don't have the T5 case myself. However, I did some digging.

The preinstalled GPU is a Lenovo-OEM 3060Ti. It's a dual fan card. Here are some pictures: https://www.reddit.com/r/graphicscar...ovo_legion_t5/

Based on it filling a lot of the space in the case, even a regular three fan card might have issues fitting in. The 4080 is a massive chonk, so I am going that no way you can safely fit that in without dremeling some room away in the case.

If you really want to go for it, then you might have to buy a new case, then I would recommend getting a full tower with good airflow because those cards do spit fire.

@Ruutana Yeah, at this rate it might be just better to build another system. Especially as you seem to be looking to get the most performance with the 4080/5800X3D, the legion motherboards don't seem to support XMP for Ryzen models. Running the memory at the default speeds leaves a fair amount of performance on the table (and to be fair, on a gaming desktop it's a quite big con).

if you were able to get the speed of the memory at 3200 to CL about 16 down from the default 20 you'd see a big difference in the 1% lows (minimum frames).
