The news broke via the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account. This long-awaited cross-gen game will not be released on the same date on all platforms, and you will therefore have understood that there will still be an additional delay for some. Here is the tweet:

Hogwarts Legacy will launch on April 4, 2023 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on July 25, 2023 for Nintendo Switch. The team is looking forward to bringing you the game and we want to deliver the best possible game experience across all platforms.

Before adding :

Hogwarts Legacy will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on February 10, 2023, with the 72 hour early access beginning on February 7, 2023.

Old-gen PS4 and Xbox One players will have to be patient and wait a little less than 2 months, when Switch players will have to wait more than 5 months.
Of course, a postponement is better than a botched game, but this separate release risks complicating things, especially for the preservation of the story and to avoid spoilers. There is also a FAQ page on the impacts of this delay here.

I think it's not that bad that there's a small delay as it is available on other platforms which most will have access to and as you said it's better to have a delay than a cancellation!

Yeah, absolutely, at least with a delay the game is not cancelled, and it gives some time to the team to tweak as much as they can, so we won't have a new CyberPunk scenario (a game full of bugs/glitches) 👀
