    Hello Legion Gamers!

Wow, time sure does fly! It's December already! A merry month indeed, which means it's time to remember all the lovely holiday traditions, both national and personal.

Mine are rather common, I think:

    1. I like to have a feast closer to New Year (those who share a passion for festive food prepare your best pictures or even recipes for there will be a food thread later!) and spend some time with family.
    2. If it snows, I try to do some skiing. The running kind, in my hometown you can do it on a sea shore, which is quite spectacular.
    3. I also like to decorate a tree in my yard with lights.
    4. If there's one nearby, I try to visit a Christmas Market and snack on some festive treats like roasted chestnuts. Could never quite get the hang of how to roast them myself.
    5. And I also watch some holiday specials that are customary to watch during this time of year, even though you know all of them already.

I guess my festive time is rather traditional, though it does not make it any less merry.

What about you, any special holiday traditions for this special time of the year?

Nothing really special during the whole month except watching Christmas movies / cartoons with my niece and of course a family dinner on December 31st.
We have another traditional family dinner, but it's in January 11th it's Berber's New Year's Eve

@GoLLuM13 Do you cook anything special/traditional at those family dinners?

@gohan I watched Friends, but it was a long time ago now. I do not remember, do they have Christmas Specials? I know there are episodes around Christmas in Office or BBT or Friends, but not sure if there are proper Christmas Specials.

@gohan And is it traditional to eat soup from a tall glass?

@DoctorEldritch for the Gregorian new year eve it changes every year, and it is accordingly to what the majority wants but for Berber new year, we add the Couscous plate with a red or white sauce both of them with meat, but we mostly do the white sauce with chicken (but not the ones from CSGO lol) and then you have the "desert" it mostly mint tea with a mix of nuts to eat mostly almonds, peanuts, pistachios hazelnuts and walnuts sometimes cashew nuts too and of course let's not forgot chocolates, we say that it's for the little ones, but everyone eats them 😂

@GoLLuM13 That does sound good, but I am surprised there are no chestnuts in the nuts mix. Not big on chestnuts? They are arguably the most traditional Winter nut.

Yes indeed, chestnuts and acorns too can be in the mix

@GoLLuM13 I never tried acorns, actually, but I do like a nicely roasted chestnut.

Looks easy enough, but I could never get them right in an oven.
