@DracoTarot I think you still need to have Xbox to play it even on PC, though. Which kind of defeats the purpose. If I had an Xbox, I'd just play it on Xbox.

But as far as imagination goes, that would be a nice bit, thank you. Mexico or RDR universe would definitely serve as a nice setting for the Day of the Dead, and it would fit right into the vibe, too.

@DoctorEldritch I had another look and it seems Red Dead 1 is playable without a console. It can be played using an emulator. The only thing needed would be an Xbox controller.

    The Emulator is called Xenia.

I agree, rather stick with the original and play it on the console. Would be the same anyway. Maybe if the emulator allows for keyboard and mouse integration with better graphics and framerates it could be fun. I doubt it's the case.

@DracoTarot I am generally wary of emulators, I lack the technical know-how to make them work the way I'd be happy with. So I am mostly waiting for the games to be released on PC. But I will buy a controller soon, so maybe that'd be a good reason to look into emulators again.

@DoctorEldritch I use MAME once in a while to play older games. Sega, Nintendo and all the old 8bit games do run well through an emulator on Pc.

It's fun to play some of the old-school games. My Xbox controller also works well with an emulator. Of course, not all buttons will function depending on the game. Mario only works with the X and O buttons.

I think I have around a thousand emu games and there are still thousands out there to try.

Found another game with a Day of the Dead theme.

Calavera: Day of the Dead Collector's Edition!

@DracoTarot That's an interesting one, though this kind of puzzle games are not really my thing, I am more into escape-type puzzles, if at all. And it is interesting that the bit we get to see has not that many DotD features, I guess there are more later on?

I also discovered just today that the Humankind game ran a DotD event throughout last November:

I do not really play global strategies of this kind, but it is nice to see this holiday included in a popular game tike this.

@DoctorEldritch Humankind looks way more interesting than Cavalera. I'm also not much of a puzzle fan depending on the game.

I'll rather play a card game like Yu-Gi-Oh.

It would be a great idea to add a Day of the Dead deck into the equation. A new character maybe? There goes my imagination again! 😂

@DracoTarot Never played Yu-Gi-Oh myself. I did play Magic the Gathering when I was still in school, but these days I am more into digital deck-building games. But I hear that Yu-Gi-Oh has a lot of different designs by now, so maybe one day they will add those too. Do they o any competitions for possible submissions from fans?

Humankind did that event last year, I have not heard of them doing it again this year, sadly.

@DoctorEldritch I do have a few Yu-Gi-Oh decks and stopped collecting the rest. It has become extremely expensive. Locally it's almost impossible to find any decks and I would need to import. The taxes are horrendous and the decks will cost 3 times more than the original price. In SA they punish you for not buying locally and increase the purchase price three-fold when importing.

I don't know much about the competitions. There were a lot a few years back. It seems they've gone underground or players and collectors lost interest. Maybe they are more like the Hellfire Club from Stranger Things. Dunno!! 😂

@DracoTarot That is unfortunate. Yu-Gi-Oh is multinational, I do not imagine it will be printed locally in SA. But do you have someone to play it with in SA, if you're collecting physical cards, you need a partner for those?

Hellfire Club is more of a D&D thing, you do not need cards there, you actually need very little to play D&D, and most of what you need is rather cheap. What you need most there is friends.
