    Hello Legion gamers!

An announcement: as part of ongoing improvements to the community platform, we'll be making some structural changes n the upcoming weeks.

We plan to move towards organizing the community by language rather than country (after all, what language we speak is what connects us more than where we live) 🙂

So the Hub and the MEA English will be merged together in order to invite all English speakers to engage and participate in one forum. 🙂

There’s no change to the structure for the Nordic community (which is also in English) right now, but we’ll inform you about any possible future changes here as well.

But for now, we thought it is a good opportunity to ask for your feedback! How do you find the structure of the Nordic community so far?

I think the Nordic section might not be getting enough traffic to justify being a standalone. 🤔

We hope it'll get more as it goes and grows!

It is definitely a step into a right direction, however, Nordic should be allowed to have conversations in Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian and Danish alongside English. I see no reason for that, as it is, after all, non-English based Forum region.

I agree, that would give the Nordic community bigger reasons to exist - and possibly would allow expanding it to much greater scale. Language barriers are real, a lot of people are not comfortable writing, heck, even talking, in a foreign language.

@Saka @Liue haven't forgotten this conversation. I was thinking of what you said about the Nordic languages above. Just wanted to check with you what you think of possibly having a language-specific (e.g. Finnish) board within the community where people can start conversations in a specific Nordic language? In the short term, before we can look at other, bigger options. Of course one issue is that currently we don't have a Swedish, Norwegian or Danish speakers in the CM team so we'd rely on community member support on things like reporting content (if anyone needs help or if content is inappropriate).

Let me know your thoughts :)

@MoriMoonpaw I don't know what target audience you have in your mind with the forums, but having the forums in Finnish would potentially open them up to younger people from Finland. They don't necessarily feel confident in their English skills or use it much. As an example I was on kendo training yesterday and when my partners were teenagers, after an awkward moment of confusion, I needed a third person to explain things in Finnish.

I can't communicate that well in real time in Finnish yet, I do a lot better in writing. 😂 It's kind of all over the place, but if there was a board in Finnish, I'd try my best to participate in it somewhat. Gotta keep the practice up, so I can actually get my language certificate once my health issues clear up.

Thanks for your thoughts @Saka, makes sense 👍 The language board(s) are something we're considering so any additional thoughts if you have any, do share. 😊

Good luck with your Finnish and the language certificate! 😎 I'd love it if we could contribute to your learning 😄

Would definitely make sense, I think having sub-forums / sub-channels for each of the Nordic language would be the fairest choice - even if we do not have (currently) Swedish, Danish or Norwegian speaking members. Dreamhack in Sweden is on its way, also LanTrek 2023 in Tampere, Finland, as well as Assembly Winter 2023 are only couple of months away - we could bring a lot of new Nordic members if we could show that, hey, your language is supported!
