I'm content with the games released recently and am really looking forward to future releases, but a big part of me wishes to see some proper "next" gen games 😅

We're living in fortunate times where both PC and Consoles have top notch hardware, but sadly we've seen only a handful of games which truly utilize these gaming beasts.

Here's hoping that the chip shortage situation improves soon 🥲

@M2lobaz I'm most definitely looking forward to some of the new releases. I have mixed emotions regarding the development and creation of games these days. Sometimes it feels like big companies compete too much with each other and tend to copy each other's work. A few titles are similar in their storylines and gameplay.

When competition is a huge factor in today's market in influences the content value.

The hardware available in today's market is so competitive it's getting hard to choose. Take GPUs for an instance. Why do companies release so many in a year? I do understand it's for profit and gain but it's getting a bit too much to upgrade every two years to enjoy new titles released by game developers.

yep..many recent games releases were underwhelming...but we hope they improve this situation for upcoming games.

I agree with you on that yearly hardware releases..it's so annoying because it doesn't offer much value/performance...they just need to take more time in development they can improve products that have much better value with smashing performance that if someone wanted to upgrade he wouldn't have a second thought

People who know me a little bit on the community probably already guessed that I'm waiting Rainbow 6 Mobile which beta test should start today 👀

There are 3 other games I'm waiting this year Bayonetta 3 (on Switch), A Plague Tale: Requiem (PC among other platforms) and last but not the least, God of War: Ragnarök (PS4/PS5) and that's the last one I'll be talking about, not the game per se, but the direction the (console) industry is taking, games are costing more and more expensive, 80€ for a brand-new game (whether it's a new game or a remake) what is supposed to be a hobby and entertainment is becoming more and more, a luxury that many can't afford, not to mention Sony's consoles price that took +50€ in Europe.

On another note, I'm curious to see the AM5 platform that, with no surprise, will be pricy, but according to some rumors it can take from 100 to 400 seconds for a first boot, depending on how much memory is installed, and by first boot we mean the first boot but also a boot after a clear CMOS or a bios flash, can you imagine, waiting 4 minutes and 40 seconds for memory training ?
I'm also curious to see what RTX 4000 will bring

@M2lobaz, it is interesting how you asked this question today, of all days. A perfect topic for Video Games Day! Did you plan for it, or did it just happen?

As for me, I am not particularly waiting for new games. That is to say, I am waiting for Plague Tale and God of War and Gotham Knights and others same as anyone, but I still have a list of older games I need to play through as well (making my way through the Assassins Creed series right now), so I am content in the knowledge that I still have a lot to play and not in a desperate need of latest releases. It is always good when they come out, though.

I am more intrigued by the VR technology and the googles and gloves we're starting to get. It is not at the level where I'd want to migrate to VR games just yet, but they are gradually getting better and better, so it is exciting to see what the future has in store for that technology in gaming.

PS; @GoLLuM13, I dug up an old Jazz thread for you. Check out the dancing Bayonetta in the comments while you're waiting for part 3!
