Hello community, I would like to know if one of these two models of PNY RAM is compatible with my Legion 5:

    1. PNY XLR8 Gaming 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz (PC4-25600) CL20 1.2V Dual Channel Overclocked
      or
    2. PNY Performance 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz (PC4-25600) CL22 (compatible con 2666MHz, 2400MHz o 2133MHz) 1.2V Dual Channel Notebook/Laptop
I think that the XLR8 Gaming option is a better option than the second and the other query, is PNY a good brand for RAM memories?

    My laptop is: ‎Legion 5 82JW0012US
    -Ryzen 7 5800H
    -RTX 3050Ti
    - 16GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM 2x 8GB
    -NVMe 512GB

Thank you in advance for your time!!!

    Hello @joemix027!

Since you're using Legion device, there should be an application called Legion Vantage preinstalled into your laptop. If you do open it up, you'll see your Legion 5 correct model number (e.g. Legion T5 26AMR5 is mine). It is located up left of that application. It seems you have written it on your message, however, take a look anyhow. You can then compare that model to those RAM sticks sold in Amazon. Usually web-pages tend to provide quite a lot of information.

If Amazon page does not provide an answer, take a look at your Warranty page:

    • Open up Lenovo Vantage and proceed to a page which shows your warranty details (click ✔ marking next of model number). It will open up your warranty details into a separate browser window. You should be able to see menu called "Parts". Click it.
    • There choose sub-page: "Compatible" which shows not-built in parts still being compatible with your current set-up. Take a look to see if one of these model numbered RAM sticks can be found from there.

I took a quick look and it seems your Legion 5 laptop indeed supports DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM. That's always a good sign.

Does your device have free RAM stick spots? If you are about to replace original ones, you should make sure your device fans are able to handle overclocked RAM sticks. If you are about to add more memory, lets say you got total of 4 stick spots in which only 2 are currently used, you should be adding 2x 8GB. Adding 1x or 2x 16GB/32GB alongside 8GB is not encouraged and may cause your system before highly unstable. You should always add same size RAM sticks you already have in your device. You will do just fine by adding 2x 8GB more.
