    Howl-o Legion Gamers!

This week was all about ghosts! We kicked off last Friday with our very own Seance ghost story (thank you @DracoTarot and @Saka for your entries!), and earlier this week started talking about the best ghosts and ghost games, not to mention the ghost hunt that started yesterday!

But same as with vampires, to tick all the boxes, we're missing the "best ghost movie" thread, so here it is! So, what is your favourite one, the iconic and funny Ghostbusters? Or maybe not less iconic but more terrifying Ring?

While there are many iconic choices, personally, I think my favourite one would actually be The Crimson Peak:

What can I say, stylish gothic architecture and Tom Hiddleston are a good mix, so this is my choice. What's yours?

Doesn't have to be just movies either, anyone knows good series about ghosts? I already mentioned one some time ago in our "good series to watch" thread, The Haunting of The Hill House, it is an atmospheric one, followed by a separate story sequel The Haunting of Bly Manor. But my current favourite series about ghosts is actually a comedy:

That's currently in its 4th season, with a nice cast of British comedians by BBC1. But if British humour is not your cup of tea, never fear for the series was successful enough to get an American adaptation:

So everyone can choose jokes, ghosts and comedians they like most! Check it out if you're in the mood for paranormal fun!

How about you, have any favourite or good ghost movies?

@DoctorEldritch my favourite ghost movie of all time would be 13 Ghosts. Ironically 13 are also hiding in the community forums and posts! 😃

I haven't come across a better ghost movie since 13 Ghosts. The ring, the Grudge and Stir of Echoes was also great.

This does look intriguing, but is it very scary, or more like a thriller? I am not sure if I should try it or it would be something I would end up regretting when I can't fall asleep after.

And yeah, we're having a ghost invasion!

@M2lobaz Does not have to be a horror!

BBC1 "Ghosts" and its American counterpart is a comedy, not scary at all. Not to mention Casper is far from a horror film. Did you watch any ghost films at all? Beetlejuice, maybe?

But I am with you on horror films, do not watch them either. Though Crimson Peak I think is more thriller than horror, and it is stylishly done. But something more horror like Hills Have Eyes or Scream is a bit too much.

Mmm, about not-scary ghost movies/series, I remembered about anime called "Aohana: The Flower We Saw That Day". It is about a dead childhood friend who reappears as a ghost and causes the group to reunite.

@Saka I've watched it, I sometimes like the stories where old friends reunite for something, a good addition, thank you!

And it fits here, all ghosts are fair game, even Ghost in the Shell!

With animes, it sometimes gets tricky though, like with Shaman King or Mob Psycho 100, there are ghosts, but there are also yokai, spirits that were not necessarily alive people before. But Aohana: The Flower We Saw That Day is all clear in that regard!

What about spirits of non-humanoid beings? There is a well known anime movie from Studio Ghibli, Spirited Away.

This is a complex question for mediums and paranormal specialists, I guess. If you're asking me, then I'd say that, if someone or something was alive but then died and has not moved on, then it is a ghost. If it was more of a situation of a "forest spirit of nature" or spirits of objects or spiritual creatures that never existed in the physical world then those are spirits and different from ghosts.

But this is just my opinion and it is a technicality, anyway! Here we welcome all ghosts or spirits!
