@miskkie Horror genre in general is an acquired taste. I only play games of the horror genre in very specific circumstances, like when they are Lovecraftian. Something more intense, like Silent Hill or Resident Evil or others, is too intense for me. Games like this one, I do not mind, as they are sort of Lovecraftian and graphically not advanced enough to scare with visuals, so they rely on atmosphere and imagination more. I can appreciate that, but to each their own indeed, and I can see how this game may not be for everyone.

@DracoTarot I can sympathise. While I was on vacation, I had weak wifi most of the time, staying in campgrounds. It was quite annoying. I did not mind as much because I was doing my R&R activities for the biggest portion of the day, but in the evenings, when I was hoping to check my newsfeed updates and such, it was loading slower than grass grows. Which was counterproductive, as whatever relaxation efforts I managed to make on my hikes were ruined 😅

@DoctorEldritch it's so frustrating. Mine was on and off for a week. I had so much to do online and have a backlog of work.

I mean how desperate must people be to steal fibre lines and WiFi antennas. There's absolutely no market value on fibre cables once installed and the antenna are worth the ounce of copper amd aluminium in them.

Things are really getting out of hand and it's becoming a huge issue.

At least you had a slow connection. I had none. If I had a connection, it was slower than a 56kbps dial up modem from the old days.

When I tried sending WhatsApp messages my phone will notify me the app is not responding.

On top of that we had a 4 day power failure also due to cable theft.

    I really need a vacay before I have a aneurism. 😅

@DracoTarot These things happen. Still, we can hope for a future where connection is stable everywhere, though it may be still ways to go. Someday.

I am not sure, maybe there is a way to repurpose them somehow. I never looked into it in detail, though.

I am not sure. Not having a connection is definite. When it is slow, it may be more torturous as you sit there in that "come on, it's almost loaded" state, hoping for a page to load for ages, only to get a "Connection timeout" message in the end. It's frustrating. When there is no connection at all, you can just forget about it and focus on something else. But maybe it's just me.

Maybe. But if a proper vacation is not in the cards right now, maybe some new game would help? I recently came accross one I thought you may find interesting, it is called Mohrta and it will release in 2 weeks, on the 14th of October:

It is like a mix of Demonʼs Souls and Doom, and simple graphics mean it may not demand much from the hardware. And you can even try the demo, if you like. Though, unlike Doom, it seems not to have metal music in it 😐

@DoctorEldritch Things do happen yes but the issue is that they either don't fix it ot take ages to rectify the problem.

I think it's purely vandalism and nothing else or to cause harm to livelyhoods.

Time out message irritates me so much. I can't handle it especially when I'm in a hurry. I am a type of person who wants to finish the job at hand. I then struggle to focus on something else especially if it's of none importance.

Thanks for letting me know about Mohrta. I'll definitely grab it. 🙂

@DracoTarot That is true, but at this point, it does not come as surprising, this is just how things are. Sad state of affairs to be sure, but it could always be worse,m same as it could always be better. Besides, as the Solomon ring teaches us, "This too shall pass". Maybe there is a bit of comfort to be had in that.

I can sympathise, though in my case, those messages affect my attention span: I switch to some other task and end up forgetting what I wanted to do on the page that was loading, and then lose time trying to remember that, which gets annoying indeed, though maybe in a somewhat different way from yours 😅

Glad you liked Mohrta from the trailer, though you may choose not to grab it after the demo: it is a good way to see if this is something to spend money on or not. I mean, Mohrta seems good, but "good" and "worth a purchase for me right now" are not the same. Sadly.

@DoctorEldritch Its all about a chance in management. The right people must take the steer. I have hope and have a positive mindset about current affairs. If the rotten apples are more exposed, surely something would happen to better the situation. I guess it's a matter of time.

In my case I do not forget. I simply do not continue on with something else. I stick with one thing until it's finished. The reason why I do it is if I move on I tend to not focus and make mistakes because of thinking about the things I wasn't able to do in the first place.

Spending money is a bit of a issue for me but not for my friends it seems. In the end one of them will grab it and I will play it without hurting my wallet. 😆

@DracoTarot Ah, well, it is sadly often the case that all we can do is hope.

Ah, this is a good mindset, but I imagine it takes up a lot of time when the connection is not good, to have to follow things through. I do not have enough focus for that.

It's nice to have generous friends 😊 Though maybe it is more of a barter system: you could be doing some favours for your friends that they appreciate and repay for in kind with game, maybe?

@DoctorEldritch Sometimes I feel like the

    Good Doctor Shaun Murphy.

"Nooo,NOOO,noooooooooo, I must and can't focus on anything else. I must concentrate on the procedure. Don't touch me, nooooooo. Please leave me alone". 😆😂

Believe me I do a whole lot of favours for them. More than I am suppose to. That's why they do no complain when I ask them to scoot over and it's my time now to occupy their hardware.

@DracoTarot It was a decent series. Though I don't think I finished it, hospital dramas are not my thing, though sitcoms I can do. But the mindset is relatable.

I guess any close relationship is, at times, like that, a bit of give and take, be it experiences or something more tangible.
