Concerning Gwent RNG, a number of things need to be considered. Drawing and mulliganing cards is often considered a random event, and should be treated as an example of healthy RNG. It breaks monotony by giving you variance within a preselected set of tools.
That being said, as someone who studied game theory in detail, the payoffs derived from an RNG victory are significantly less impactful than an RNG loss, and so, for game longevity, RNG elements should definitely be present in the game, just not enough that it will wholly decide the outcome of a game.

I dont think the question is about how much RNG but what kind of RNG! noone has a problem with cards like shupe and Uma becaue they share the risk of the RNG whilst the above mentioned cards have a high chance to highroll a gamewinning coin (and take cards away from ur enemy which is a feelbad on its own ) but the risk for the cointosser is minimal which doesnt feel fair.
Other RNG like alzur flips 3 coins which makes the variance way lower whilst still offering highs and lows. you ll always want to keep RGN around for the clippable moments and good rng makes your opponent as happy as yourself since he too gets to witness a cool rare moment

@TheaBeasty too much rng is frustrating, but no rng will make some op decks unbeatable, i think gwent balances it right

Seriously it’s quite hard to draw the line of “too much”, for example gascon could be a perfect display of pure RNG, but I bet no one would say that the existence of gascon is ruining the game balance or do harm to anyone’s gameplay experience.

But those like the new spotter and canta
are a true game-changing card by just a damn lucky hit, that’s what we call the true unnecessarily, annoying, tilting RNGs.
