if it's the O day then oats would be the healthiest choice in this letter🥣

@Liue Thank you, I may try it sometime. Though I prefer air frying over oven, so may need to look into an adapted recipe for that. What is the peeled almond for, is it one of those things where finding it brings you luck, like with traditional British Christmas Pudding?

@DoctorEldritch Peeled almond indeed is that! It's Finnish tradition to hide peeled almond into a Christmas rice porridge, but it fits completely OK into this one as well.

@Liue A much safer option than what British Christmas Pudding does, a sixpence (nowadays five pence coin) is used for that, and whoever finds it in his pudding bit will be lucky that year. It is ironic that a thing that could bring you luck is also a choking hazard.

@Alexia4bit You can always talk about your favourite or interesting foods separately if you like. This thread follows A to Z letters to give a glimpse of interesting dishes to try, but it does not need to limit you, you can still show some interesting dishes from the past letters. It would be interesting to learn more about Egyptian cuisine.

Or maybe you know other interesting desserts? I remember you mentioning Nabulsi Kunafeh. You can have more than one favourite dessert 😉 (I know that this is not how the word "favourite" works, but I think exception can be made for desserts, it can be tricky to choose just one favourite there, after all 😅)

Oreo cheesecake would be the most delicious and the most popular I guess 🤔

@NadaGalal Oreos are popular, but personally, I do not like them much. That is to say, I do not dislike them, but they never felt that special to me. But I guess I am in the minority, given how many desserts feature them now. Ice cream, cakes and so forth. Maybe I am missing something

Here is a different dessert from Nigeria, an Ogi pudding:

It is made from millet, and is actually rather sour than sweet.

that's totally normal, there's some very famoud dishes in Egypt I don't like to eat Like "Mahshi" and you can't imagine how special it's here in Egypt, but when my mom makes it for dinner I cook my self anything else
and no need to tell you the reaction when I tell a new friend I don't eat it 😂😂
so no wonder that oreo isn't soo special for you, I get you

I like to try new dishes from different cultures as soon as I could
the syrian dishes are invading Egypt nowadays 😂

Yes, she's right, I've almost never met anyone who doesn't like stuffing in my life😅
It's almost the strangest thing I've ever heard in my life, but that's okay
I don't like bechamel pasta😅😅, so I understand you, but stuffed grape leaves are something else
They're the best food for many people 😂😂😂😂
    especially stuffed grape leaves.
