    Hello Legion Gamers!

February sure is generous with anticipated releases! Earlier this month we got our hands on the much anticipated Hogwarts Legacy, and this week 2 more big titles join the fray

The first one is Atomic Heart! Made in a distinct retro-futuristic Soviet style, this action game is probably best described as "Soviet Bioshock":

So when you want to take a break from the spells and magic of the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, why not check out a bit of alternative history? Metro series may be close to "Russian Fallout", but no game before the Atomic Heart painted a setting of Soviet before.

And that is not all! Fans of the Yakuza series or Ghost of Tsushima or Japan history, rejoice. SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released their latest remake - Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Those who played the Yakuza series will notice many familiar faces, but the setting is set in the 1860s, and the story is completely separate from the main series.

But there's more: I sang praises to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio several times already for how they do remakes (notwithstanding their fancy of micro-transactions DLC lately, those we could do without, but devs gotta eat, I guess). Their Yakuza 1&2 Kiwami remakes were more than just cosmetic, they reworked the gameplay mechanics and added quests and lore.

Same here, the original Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! from 2014 got a rework with new visuals added and you can spot characters from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, that to my knowledge were not in the original game (Yakuza: Like a Dragon was released in 2020). So this is a nice example not only of a good game but also of a tutorial for making quality remakes.

And it is set in the turbulent Bakumatsu period of Japan's history, a period not often featured in games.

So those who are waiting for Ghost of Tsushima to make its way to PC or those who want to step into the shoes of a gunslinging samurai, this here is a game for you.

It is nice to see February tailoring releases of the games with such unusual settings that are not often found in games. So fans of magic and wizardry, or retro-futuristic soviet ambiance, or even historic Japan, all have some treats this month!

Which one would you go for?

@Darklord2099 Personally, I am a fan of the Yakuza series, so I am more partial to Like a Dragon: Ishin!, but I very much agree that Atomic Heart has an interesting setting.

@gohan Assassin's Creed Red about feudal Japan is coming next after Mirage is done. Not sure if you tried Ghost of Tsushima, I am waiting for it to make its way to PC. And there is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, that's not bad but somewhat darksouls. And then there is Nioh, but I have not played it. But those ones are all I know of.
