Ubisoft has just revealed Season 1 of Year 8 of Rainbow Six Siege during the Six Invitational 2023.
First of all, we learn that the name of the season is "Operation Commanding Force", we see the introduction of two groups, the first is Viper Strike which has Hibana as its leader and which will welcome the new operator, the second group is Redhammer and led by Thermite.

The new operator, is an attack operator called Brava and comes from Brazil, she is Capitao's cousin, but is less threatening than the latter.
Brava's special ability is a drone called the "Kludge drone", it remotely hacks defenders' gadgets as well as destroying them. Of course, hacking gadgets means taking control of them, which will allow us to turn the gadgets against the defenders and cause damage to them.
She will have 3 speed and 1 health stats, as for her arsenal, we will have for the main weapon the choice between the PARA-308 assault rifle or the CAMRS sniper rifle, in secondary weapon we have the choice between the USP 40 pistol and the Super Shorty mini shotgun and finally for gadgets we have the choice between Claymores or Smoke Grenades.
We got it, Brava is an anti-gadget and intel agent. Defenders will have to be very careful where they step.

Among the operators who will be in synergy with her, we have IQ who will be able to detect gadgets in order to locate them and make it easier for Brava to hack or destroy them. We also have Thatcher but also all the other agents who have an EMP grenade, which will be able to disable Mozzie's or Mute's gadgets while Brava destroys them.
She also has Nemesis, among them, we have Mozzie, who in turn can hijack Brava's drone and thus hack or destroy the attackers' gadgets.
Mute on its side can jam the signals and therefore deactivate the drone of Brava.
Solis can locate Brava's drones remotely, but also Brava herself when she uses her drones.
Vigil for his part is undetectable by the drones of Brava.

During the Y8S1.2 mid-season patch, the Rainbow Six Siege team will officially introduce a new feature which has already been enabled in the shadows for a while called "Mousetrap", it is an anti-spoofing solution against console keyboard-mouse gamers, which is a blight on competitive console gaming.
Mousetrap will detect keyboard-mouse players and instead of banning them, Mousetrap will gradually add latency to them. This latency will disappear as soon as they unplug their gadget to play the controller like other players.
Ubisoft will ensure that players with disabilities and using adaptive technology are not impacted by Mousetrap, otherwise there will be a QR Code to scan to contact them and implement appropriate solutions. This Mousetrap solution remains experimental but laudable.

Always with the aim of fighting against the toxicity that plagues online games, of which Rainbow Six Siege is no exception, for this season the team will focus on the toxicity of voice chat, with the new update, toxic players in voice chat will receive a penalty. If too many people report a player and/or this player is muted too many times, he will be automatically muted for all players and this penalty will last for several matches. However, players will still be able to unmute if they wish to hear that player.

As part of the balancing, a new feature is entering and will change the core of the gameplay that we have known since the beginning of the game, it is the "Reloading Rework", it is simply a question of changing the reloading system, before when you reloaded a weapon, you just had to aim to cancel the animation without any change and therefore find the number of bullets you had before reloading, now it will no longer be possible to cancel the animation to reload faster (find the same number of bullets). If we cancel the animation, the agent will throw the magazine, and we will find ourselves without any bullet, or only one bullet if we had one in the chamber, this is done in order to make the game even more tactical and realistic, providing an advantage to the opponent when they know someone is reloading and are therefore vulnerable.

Another change is coming, this one concerns Agent Zero (better known as Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell) his Argus Camera will no longer be planted by default on the inner side of the wall, but on the outer side (which is the same side as the player) and the camera should be usable on both sides by other players as well, which will make Zero more interesting.

On the armament side, and more specifically on the barrels, the muzzle breaker will reduce recoil by 50% instead of the current 45%, as for the compensator, it will reduce the recoil by 35% instead of the current 15%.

We had seen it previously that the Battle Pass had changed and had introduced the Bravo Packs which the players appreciated, for this season there will be a novelty, the Tickets Packs Bravo for those who have completed the 100 levels of the Battle Pass, they will allow players to choose their reward from the Bravo Packs.

Regarding quality of life and experience changes, some menus will change, especially for game mode selection.

We will also be entitled to "Beginner Challenges", these challenges will be grouped by "Agent Specialties", for example, just play a "Breacher" to progress in this category. These challenges will allow new players, in particular, to learn how to play, the Rainbow Six Siege lexicon and strategies, to see their style of play and the one that suits them best, and finally it will also allow them to win rewards when they finish challenges. The challenges (and rewards) will be accessible to new and old players alike. These rewards unlock agents, renown, rewards, boosters and packs.

Operation Commanding Force will be available on TTS (Test Servers) from next week and from March 7th on stable servers.

@Darklord2099 there isn't enough countries in the world 😜 on a more serious note, they like Brazil, there's a big community there, the operator is the cousin of Capitao, so, that will give them a chance to tell us more stories, and let's not forget that next SI will be in Brazil

@Darklord2099 I'm a North African, I already suggested my country with a squad to Ubisoft several times but still no luck. Instead, we will have another Brazilian, another South Korean, a Danish and a Portuguese 👀
